ABOUT ME
Yasemin Duran is a dual citizen British-German-Turkish actor of diverse heritage, with roots going back all the way to Turkmenistan. With a journalistic background, she started working as an interpreter & translator globally until she discovered acting as a profession in the United Kingdom. As a multilingual actor, Yasemin’s native language skills (English, German & Turkish) have frequently been used on set, both to her advantage as well that of the various producers and directors she has worked with.
Yasemin played Officer Pasha on an international US drama FBI International (Series 2- Episode 4) working with the director Avi Youabian which has aired on CBS mid October 2022 and is currently available in various platforms such as NOW and Apple TV. Even during the pandemic in 2020-2021, Yasemin has not stopped working and was cast in a number of TV commercials such as working with the director Michael J. Ferns (MJF) on the latest Co-op commercial as well as featured roles in several British films i.e The Bezonians, The Phantom Warrior and The Abomination, all of which are scheduled to be released in the cinemas and various global digital platforms.
Yasemin received her first UK TV credit in 2014 as Mrs. Tapa in Coronation Street and in 2015, she was on the British Comedy Television Series House of Fools. This subsequently led to Yasemin working on popular ITV soap operas such as Emmerdale, as a voice over artist, doing so without any professional training. By this point she began attending screen acting classes with Karen Henthorn in Manchester, before committing to a two year part-time drama course at the Independent Centre for Actor Training (ICAT) in turn leading to theatre performances in London and Manchester. Throughout her training, she was led by her mentor and artistic director Simon Trinder and supervised by Mike Alfreds. (www.simontrinderactor.com)
Yasemin is acting daily and her side hustle as an interpreter allows her to use her voice professionally in different settings. One day, she could be making public announcements during a Champions League football game and another day she could be sat in court next to alleged murder or terror suspects. All of these experiences give her emotional access that she uses for her work as an actor.
Yasemin Duran is also an Equity member, for further info regarding her credits please see her profile on Spotlight (actors directory):
